Shrine Replica: Our Lady of Lebanon of Harissa
Azia & Diane Massad, parishioners of Our Lady of Lebanon Church in Flint, recently purchased a new home.
Aziz, who is from Lebanon, almost immediately set out to build a shrine to the Blessed Virgin in the backyard.
The Massads wanted their domestic shrine to remind them of the Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon and the replica which stands in the courtyard of the Flint parish.
The entire family, Aziz, Diane and their children Tony, Alissa and Paul prepared for weeks to complete the shrine for the blessing which took place at their home on Sunday, August 13th, 2000. with a number of friends and parishioners present. Fr. Anthony Spinosa blessed the new domestic shrine along with Fr. Yousif Perra, pastor of Mar Shainoun Assyrian Church and a friend of the Masaad family. After the blessing everyone enjoyed a wonderful meal and fellowship as they celebrated the Jubilee Year 2000 and remembered the Domestic Church.
