Mission
The Eparchial Office of Religious Education exists to assist the Eparchial Bishop in his ministry as chief teacher of the Eparchy and of handing on the Faith. It acts as a resource to pastors, other clergy, parish and regional religious education leaders, catechists and members of the faithful on all levels, especially adults. This is to be done in the following contexts:
- A thoroughly Catholic interpretation of the Sacred Scriptures
- The authentic teaching of the Catholic Church, especially as understood by the Maronite Catholic Community
- The spirit of the Second Vatican Council, especially in its document, “The Decree on the Eastern Catholic Churches”
- The documents, Orientale Lumen and Ut Unum Sint
- Maronite Catholic Tradition
- In cooperation with the teaching ministry of the Maronite Patriarch, as well as with catechetical groups within the Maronite Church in Lebanon and within the entire Patriarchate
